The CCA holds over 1,500 items generated by 50 separate international expositions, from the Exposition des produits de l’industrie francaise (1834, Paris, France) to the present day. Strongest holdings are for the Great Exhibition (1851, London, England); Centennial Exhibition (1876, Philadelphia, Pa.); World’s Columbian Exposition (1893, Chicago, IIll.); Exposition universelle internationale de 1900 (Paris, France); Louisiana Purchase Exposition (1904, St. Louis, Mo.); Panama-Pacific International Exposition (1915, San Francisco); Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes (1925, Paris, France); New York World’s Fair (1939-1940); and Expo 1967 (Montréal, Québec). Over 100 other fairs of various types are also represented. The collection includes related printed materials and souvenir artefacts.
