This collection of mixed materials, dating from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century, documents the library as a building type. Approximately 25,000 postcards and 38 commemorative medals depict libraries around the world. Several hundred pieces of ceramic ware, metalware, treenware, and glassware are printed with images of library architecture. The collection includes more than 300 books and pamphlets on library history and other miscellaneous items such as wood miniatures and souvenir pins.
