In residence for three months as the inaugural Young Curator, Dan Handel will present an overview of his ongoing project “First, the Forests” which will be developed as an exhibition here in 2012.

“Forests have been haunting western civilization from its earliest beginnings. However, in contrast to its romantic, idealizing view, there exists the understanding of forest-as-industry, spawning a great number of land experiments, advanced technologies and designed spaces. Looking at that trajectory, the presentation will discuss possible ways of rethinking the complex interaction between forests and architectures.”
