Azadi Cineplex, Tehran, Iran
1997
Project
File documents an executed project by the Foreign Office Architects for the Azadi Cineplex, Tehran, Iran. The competition program, which was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Iran, required the design of several projection rooms and an area of commercial and cultural spaces with a floor area of 16,000m2. The Cineplex was built in the centre of Teheran, on a site that was formerly occupied by a famous cinema that had been destroyed in a fire; construction was completed in 2008.
The file contains reference material and copies of Iranian building codes, photographic snapshot and slides, presentation drawings, and computer-generated renderings. File also contains digital material that is currently being processed and is temporarily unavailable for consultation. Material in this file was produced circa 1997.
