Scope and Content

File documents a proposal by the Foreign Office Architects for the Kerrin Point Housing project, London, England. The project, organized by the Lambeth City Council, called for the design of new housing that incorporated small shops, community space, children’s play areas and a general improvement to the surrounding site. Kerrin Point was originally a 20 storey residential tower block, built in the 1960s as part of the Ethelred Estate. Following a gas explosion in the late 1990s the tower was demolished and the site was left undeveloped. Material in this file was produced between 1998 and 2005.

File includes research material, computer-generated design renderings, preliminary plans and presentation material. It also contains City of London planning reports and briefs, and copies of residential development standards for the borough of Lambeth.
