Sustainable?

Seminar, in English, Paul Desmarais Theatre, 16 June 2007 to 17 June 2007

Sustainable? is an international colloquium bringing together individuals from various disciplines to explore questions of sustainability in relation to architecture. Initiated by architect and scholar Iñaki Àbalos, the colloquium and roundtable discussion historically situates architectural engagement with sustainability, and constructs a program for future engagement through collaborations and conversations between architects, engineers, and scholars.

Participants include:
Iñaki Àbalos (Àbalos & Herreros and Princeton University)
Michelle Addington (Yale University)
Stan Allen (Stan Allen Architect and Princeton University)
Manuel Bauer (Estia SA and École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne)
Mark Jarzombek (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)
Mohsen Mostafavi (Cornell University)
Matthias Sauerbruch (Sauerbruch Hutton GmbH)
Mahadev Raman (Ove Arup & Partners Ltd and Columbia University)
Volker M. Welter (University of California, Santa Barbara)

Mirko Zardini and Phyllis Lambert join the subsequent roundtable discussion, as well as Mario Carpo, Mellon Senior Fellow Francis Strauven, and CCA Visiting Scholars Hilary Sample and Caroline Maniaque.
