Scope and content:
File documents an executed project by the Foreign Office Architects for the Blue Moon Aparthotel & Tent, Groningen, Netherlands. The project called for the design of an “aparthotel” and a tent for the Blue Moon city festival, as part of a master plan designed by Toyo Ito, with the total area of the hotel being 200m2, and the total tent area being 700m2. The Blue Moon festival was a four week event in September 2001 that integrated architecture and urban planning activities with a focus on the redevelopment of a former industrial site called Europark, as well as five other sites in Groningen. Toyo Ito, OMA, Xaveer de Geyter, and the Foreign Office Architects were all asked to design an “architectural intervention” in the Europark and a dwelling in the inner city designed to house private, semi-public, and public functions. Material in this file was produced between 2000 and 2001.

File includes plans, presentation material, and images of the site. File also contains digital material that is currently being processed and is temporarily unavailable for consultation.
