Présentation du contenu:
Sub-series documents various external activities of the Foreign Office Architects. This material was originally received in ring binders that were labelled, “Publications / publications, exhibitions, competitions”. As this labelleling suggests, the material primarily documents the publication of their work, but also includes minimal documentation regarding exhibitions, competitions, and lectures that they participated in. Material in this sub-series was produced between 1995 and 2011.
Sub-series contains files of office documentation and correspondence, much of which is accompanied by layouts and reduced sets of plans and/or drawings used as planning documents for publications. It contains little editorial material, and functions primarily as a record of the publications that highlighted the Foreign Office Architects and their work during this time period. The exception to this is ARCH270345, which contains layouts and notes for the Foreign Office Architects’ book Phylogenesis: FOA’s Ark, published by Actar in 2004.
Sub-series also contains 800 periodicals and 84 newspapers that feature the Foreign Office Architects and their work. The periodicals including BD, Building Design, El Croquis, The Architects’ Journal, and The Architectural Review, and were published between 1995 and 2011 (see AP171.S2.SS2.1995.D1). The newspapers include The Review, The Observer, El Pais, The Times, The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, Evening Standard, The Independent, and newspapers in Japanese and Arabic, and were published between 1995 and 2004 (see AP171.S2.SS2.1995.D2).
The material has been left in its original order, and arrangement within the sub-series is chronological.
