The CCA building was conceived in the 1980s around a historic mansion known as the Shaughnessy House, one of the rare nineteenth-century Montreal houses open to the public. As of now the second floor of the house, next to our exhibition galleries and the Paul-Desmarais Theatre can host external events. Our venue includes numerous spaces for a range of events, both cultural and corporate, from workshops and cocktails to film projections. We offer a unique setting, technical expertise, and event-management support. Below are some details to help you plan your event.

Originally designed in 1871 by William T. Thomas, the Shaughnessy House offers the possibility to host events in five interconnected rooms with a total floor area of 326 m2. The rooms can be opened up for a large party or closed for small meeting. A kitchen is available. All rooms overlook the CCA sculpture garden located across Boulevard René-Lévesque.

Prices are before applicable taxes and include space rentals but not additional rates such as those for catering, additional technical set-ups for your event or the management fee. Please also note that the CCA works with a specific list of caterers.
