The Kumbh Mela is a Hindu festival that takes place every twelve years in Allahabad. It is considered to be the largest public gathering in the world, with over 100 million people in attendance in 2013.


Rahul Mehrotra is the principal of RMA Architects and Chair of Urban Planning and Design at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He was a Mellon Senior Fellow at the CCA in 2013.
