May Cutler (born Ebbit) ; born 4 Sept. 1923 in Montréal ; died 3 March 2011 ; b.a. and m.a. (English literature) from McGill University ; m.a. in journalism from Columbia University ; worked for the United Nations as receptionist ; columnist and reporter for the "Montreal Herald" and "Montreal Standard" ; founded a three-year program in journalism at McGill University ; founded Tundra Books in 1967 and ran it for almost 30 years ; mayor of Westmount 1987-1991.
