The Arcop Associates Maison Alcan project records, 1979 - 1983, document Arcop's (Architects in Co-Partnership) design and construction of Alcan's Montreal head office, Maison Alcan. Maison Alcan, located on 1188 Sherbrooke West, was part of a 40 million dollar restoration project which integrated historic buildings into a commercial construction. These project records consist of the following: approximately 6000 drawings (including reprographic copies), 915 photographic materials, 15 l.m. of textual records, 2 models, 2 panels, 2 plaster mouldings, 1 book, and 1 mullion extrusion.

Raymond Tait Affleck (1922-1989) was born in Penticton, British Columbia. B. Arch., McGill University, Montréal, 1947. Post-graduate studies at Federal Technical Institute, Zurich, Switzerland. Founding partner of Affleck, Desbarats, Dimakopoulos, Lebensold, Michaud, and Sise, 1953-1970, Montréal. Arcop Associates, 1970-1989. Partner in charge of following projects: Place Bonaventure, Montréal; Stephen Leacock Building, McGill University, Montréal; Market Square, Saint John, New Brunswick; Place Air Canada and Maison Alcan, Montréal.
