How to open a car like a book

Parking
Urban furniture

Plymouth Reliant cut in two (photos: Michael Awad) A K-car was left in an abandoned parking lot near the centre of town. Over several days the front seats were reversed, the car was cut in half between the front and rear doors, and hinged apart, making a roughly symmetrical seating area. How to open a car like a book is both a crude negation the cars function as a force of separation and hierarchy, and an attempt to animate a forgotten space in the city, encouraging its use day and night.
