Urban Flat Scanners

Urban Flat Scanners

Computer
High tech gadget

Many times, the urban landscape was expressed and talked about through the optical media such as photography and movies. On the other hand, copy machines and scanners is the optical media which came into existence in the 20th century, but they mainly occupy office. We will free the scanners from the office and divert them to media for capturing urban landscape.
Scanner doesn’t have perspective, and it’s vision is all flat. If photography is panorama, scanner is diorama. We can consider it as 1/1 map. In other words, it’s aerial photo taken zero meter from the ground, capturing tiny range.
By this micro log-picking, like picking the cells of the huge city itself, can’t we open up the alternative of city landscape?
