The event is held by the University of Toronto’s Daniels Faculty of Architecture to acknowledge the 2020 Royal Architectural Institute of Canada’s Gold Medal and to honour Blanche Lemco van Ginkel’s work and legacy as an architect, urbanist, teacher, and Dean of the architecture faculty in Toronto. For the live part of the event, Phyllis Lambert, Mary MacLeod, and Ipek Mehmetoglu will be in conversation. Fragments of City Dreamers will be shown and an online exhibition with approximately 25 videos on the work of Blanche Lemco van Ginkel will be opened. The event is moderated by Brigitte Shim and Laura Miller.
This event is a collaboration between the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, University of Toronto, the Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture, McGill University, and Building Equality in Architecture Canada (BEA/Canada).
