Every first Sunday of each month, entry to the CCA and its exhibitions is free.
On 3 November, join us for an enriching conversation about aquaculture, focusing on seaweed cultivation in Gaspésie, with the Mi’gmaq Wolastoqey Indigenous Fisheries Management Association (MWIFMA), represented by Guy-Pascal Weiner.
This event will highlight the fishing and harvesting processes of the region while exploring the importance of fostering a healthy maritime ecosystem. We will explore the connections between fishing practices and coastal environments, and examine how both known and unknown interactions affect our ecosystems and communities.
Program includes:
• Presentation and discussion of MWIFMA’s activities
• Tasting of seaweed-based products
• Special selection of books at the bookstore
• Activities for children
This discussion is framed in the context of our current exhibition, Into the Island, which explores the projects of architect Xu Tiantian on Meizhou Island in China, where residents engage in various maritime activities, including seaweed cultivation.
Join us to learn, exchange ideas, and have a taste of the ocean.
The event is free and open to all. Register here
