Summary:
Over the course of just two months in 1965, at a residency at the Tamarind Lithography Workshop in Los Angeles, the Japanese American artist Ruth Asawa produced a stunning portfolio of 54 lithographs, depicting organic forms and plants as well as family and friends. The Tamarind Workshop had been founded by artist June Wayne in Los Angeles in 1960 in an effort to revitalize lithography as a fine art, and offered artists the opportunity to work in collaboration with master printers. For Asawa, it was a rare chance to focus on a single medium and opened up a new chapter of artmaking for her. A testament to Asawa's radically experimental and collaborative ethos, the Tamarind prints present a discrete chapter of her oeuvre, encapsulating many of the artist's emblematic motifs. Published in celebration of the artist's centennial in 2026, this exquisitely produced book illustrates each lithograph made during her residency at the Tamarind Workshop, which have never been published as a complete series.

Une série d'études de maisons réalisées à l'aquarelle par l'artiste suédois, imprimées en risographie. « Over time, I have collected shapes—in this case all in the form of houses. I study their details closely: the tilt of a roof, the rhythm of windows, subtle shifts in proportion. My fascination with unique structures is endless, whether it's a simple shed or a complex architectural form I hadn't considered before. Communicating through built forms has become central to my practice. A house can carry memories, emotions, and ideas all at once—offering space for the viewer's own interpretation. » Andreas Samuelsson

Summary:

Summary:
VisualCollect presents a small exhibition titled “Artpiece, The Story of Plant Room.” This exhibition was curated to capture the awakening of plants and their surroundings as we transition from the end of winter into the warmth of spring. It aims to convey the idea that houseplants in modern society are more than mere decorations, they are precious companions that breathe alongside our lives. Through the scenes surrounding these plants, we sought to create a harmony where nature and art blend together, and to share that process with others. From small succulents on a shelf, to climbing vines on the wall, to the bright green hues that fill window sills, each space reflects our tastes and personal stories. In this exhibition, artist Lee Su presents works that highlight vibrant color contrasts, featuring a charming grandfather dressed in raincoats as colorful as fish. These cheerful paintings lift the viewer’s mood and are all brought together in a storybook format. About the Artist Lee Su began painting after being captivated by the colorful scenery of London during his travels. He mainly works with themes of grandfathers and fish, expressing his wish to age with wit and to live a life as colorful and varied as a fish’s hues. His favorite brand is YMC, which he finds appealing for its bold use of color, and his favorite artist is David Hockney, known for his use of bright, uplifting colors.

Summary:
The American artist Robert Rauschenberg (1925–2008) won acclaim and awards for his diverse oeuvre that spanned six decades and included paintings, sculpture, prints, photography, and performance. Less well known is the role that writing played in his creative process. Rauschenberg self-identified as dyslexic and did not publish extensively, leading to the widely held assumption that he was not an artist who wrote. This book corrects the record, showcasing 100 passages, many published here for the first time, from Rauschenberg’s robust body of written work. Comprising correspondence, artist notes, testimony, speeches, and more, this collection brings to light the artist’s love of language and reveals that writing was, in fact, central to Rauschenberg’s practice. The writings, illustrated with reproductions in the artist’s distinctive hand, are infused with visual and intellectual lyricism, humor, and insight, and span topics from the freedom of artistic expression to environmental concerns.

Summary:
''Alice Neel: I Am the Century'' accompanies the first major retrospective in Italy dedicated to the US artist Alice Neel (1900–1984), presented by Pinacoteca Agnelli, Turin. Conceived as both a critical and a narrative journey, this publication offers an in-depth exploration of Neel's artistic and personal life, expanding on the exhibition through a rich selection of essays and visual material. Merging realism with surrealism and empathy with unflinching clarity, Neel captured the psychological and emotional depth of her sitters. The publication emphasizes her capacity to chronicle life's stages and relationships—childhood and adulthood, sexuality and intimacy, community and political consciousness—through works that continue to resonate with contemporary audiences. Positioning Neel as both artist and witness, ''I Am the Century'' underscores her enduring humanism and her singular vision of the "human comedy," offering readers a comprehensive entry point into a body of work that is still influencing new generations of artists.

Summary:
Building loosely on the form of a pocket-sized travel guide, "731.52 cm of land" unfolds into a 731.52 cm wide miniature landscape. Composed of hand-painted and digitally illustrated images stitched together into a continuous sequence, the book includes a poem and short narrative by the artist, an essay co-authored with Daniella Sanader, and an afterword by Heather Canlas Rigg. A sticker sheet featuring animal and plant forms is included as an insert. Functioning as a poetic visual-textual essay, the book unsettles the familiar logic of travel guides and the explorer’s gaze. It troubles the impulses of sightseeing, navigation, and tourism, while calling into question the authoritative languages of archaeology, botany, taxonomy, and cartography. It emerges from ongoing inquiries in Nour Bishouty’s practice around permission, legibility, and understanding.
