This fun, inside look at the life of an artwork shows the journey of two artists’ work from studio to exhibition. Stopping along the way we meet colorful characters—curators, photographers, shippers, museum visitors, and more! Both illustrator and author were raised in the art world, spending their time in studios, doing homework in museum offices, and going to special openings. They have teamed up to share their experiences and love for this often mysterious world to a young audience. London-based illustrator Rose Blake is best known for her work in "A History of Pictures for Children," by David Hockney and Martin Gayford, which has been a worldwide success. Author Doro Globus brings her love for the arts and kids together with this fun journey.

Summary:
One very dark night, a long time ago, there was a big explosion. It was the ''Big Bang.'' From the ''Big Bang,'' a dot flew off by itself and began to explore. But all around it was empty space. The dot became lonely, so it split in two, which was fun at first. But then the two dots grew bored of each other, so they began to multiply until they formed something entirely new: a line. The line replicated until it became a surface, and the surface repeated until it became a 3-dimensional shape: the volume. A stray line then pulled off the volume and began to explore shape, color and pattern to create the magic of writing and art. This whimsical adventure—filled with imaginative text, mind-expanding illustrations and with an impressive double gatefold ''to infinity''—takes readers of all ages on a journey through concepts that are the foundation of both art and life.

Summary:
At first glance a children’s book, Jeane D'aam’s illustrated story is actually an introduction to modern Dutch architecture. Everything starts with a square. A square can be rotated, doubled, divided in two, and then again in four. Its corners can then be cut, stretched, and more. One page at a time, the shape of a house begins to appear. The Dutch, however, love houses with low roofs in the countryside, so these shapes change again to become hexagonal. In cities, on the other hand, a lot of rectangular houses are needed, perhaps joined together by a bridge. Finally, by adding doors, windows, and a touch of colour, this series of geometric shapes turns into perfect Dutch houses.
