AP207.S1.2012.PR05
Description:
The project series documents the digitally created performance "Antologico… Enciclopedico" by Pettena in 2012. The project consists of a photograph of bookshelves which was digitally modified to include an image of Pettena to give the illusion that he is laying amongst the books. "An ironical statement made by the artist who, being more than seventy years old, has by now been the object of a long and progressive phenomenology of quotations and inspirations of critics, architects and contemporary artists. This is usually what happens with masters who, more or less, are no longer acting on the stage." [1] The project series contains two sketches and photographs of the performance. AP195.S4
Description:
Series 4: Press, publications and events, 1999 – 2011, contains materials used to publicize the Phaeno Science Centre during and after its construction. Formats include CAD drawings (plotter files, AutoCAD, and EPS), image files (TIFF, JPEG, EXIF), and text (PDF, Microsoft Word). The bulk of the material dates from 2000 to 2007. This series significantly overlaps with the previous three series, because many design and construction images were repurposed for publications and the press. The materials in this series largely relate to at least two different books written about the Phaeno Science Centre; one is titled “Phaeno Construction Drawings, 2000-2005” and the other is unidentified. There are also photographs, presentation files, award applications, and press information created during and after Phaeno Science Centre construction. Notably, there is also a grouping of materials relating to the use of concrete in this project.

L’avventura delle idee in Toscana dall’Ottocento a oggi", curated by Pettena and presented at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, in 1998. The exhibition focuses on landscape architecture and its historical development by using the example of Tuscany from the 19th century to present day. "This set out to illustrate a historical course of development that also entailed the consideration and reevaluation [sic] of the landscape that results from human activity [...] and extended as far as an analysis and presentation of the most modern theme parks of sculpture and environmental art." [1] The sub-series contains research material, such as photocopies of articles and books on landscape architecture, and reference photographs. The sub-series also contains texts for the publication and correspondence related to the planning of the exhibition.
