Description:
Oud was commissioned to design a distillery factory and warehouse just outside of Purmerend. Oud's original drawings consist of a rectangular hall and a distillery placed in a symmetrical layout. Oud later expanded his design in 1919 and modified it according to the client's wishes. Although the plans were never realized for the distillery factory in Purmerend, Oud's factory design and photographs of a model were exhibited as an example of the De Stijl aesthetic in the Paris Rosenberg gallery (Taverne et al. 2001,150-156). The project series includes design drawings as well as photographs of plans for the factory and warehouse. The series also includes a photograph of a model.

Description:
The Stichting Nationaal Park De Hoge Veluwe commissioned Oud to design its gatekeeper lodge and ticket booth in 1957. Oud designed a two-storey building that featured several balconies and an annexed ticket booth, with colour choices of white walls with strategic uses of primary colours. Construction was waylaid because of the delay in obtaining building permits from the Ministries of Culture and Finance. Once approval was obtained, the cost of building was too high and, as a result, the plan was cancelled in 1960 (Taverne et al. 2001, 482). Project series includes plans as well as a photograph of a perspective drawing.

Description:
Almelo town council commissioned Oud for the design of its new town hall in 1962. Oud designed three sections: one for administrative departments, another for the council chamber, and one for a civic reception room and wedding rooms. After Oud's death in 1963, town council assigned Hans Oud and Harm Dethmers the subsequent development of Oud's original design. With the change of the site location in later years, the design was altered quite drastically by the time of its completion in 1973 (Taverne et al. 2001,503). Project series includes a sketch plan and photographs of a model and of a perspective drawing.

Description:
The Seafront Terrace Housing, or "Strandboulevard" was originally designed by Oud for the property developer, Maatschappij Oostduinen Scheveningen. Oud was originally commissioned to build only for one strip of development. He designed nine three-storey luxury units that could be repeated any number of times. Oud's contemporaries viewed the design as embodying the Dutch artistic movement, De Stijl. The sea-front elevation for the design is cubic. While Oud eventually opted for an unornamented design, his original drawings featured masonry ornaments and panelling (Taverne et al. 2001, 145-148). Project series includes drawings of plans, photographs of drawings, and a photograph of a model.

Description:
File documents a consultancy project related to the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL) running from London to Folkestone, England. Price was commissioned to work in conjunction with engineering and environmental teams to provide input to the aesthetic design of major structures located along the CTRL route. A significant part of the work done on the project relates to a proposal to use a bridge rather than a tunnel on the section of the link crossing the Thames. The bridge would have been built between Gravesend, Kent and Tilbury, Thurrock. Material in this file was produced between 1986 and 1997, but predominantly in 1992. File contains conceptual drawings and textual records.

Description:
Oud lectured in 1924-1925 in Prague and Brno on 'The Development of Modern Architecture in the Netherlands' where he made contact with contemporary international architects involved in avant-garde artists circles. As a result of his lecture tours, Oud was commissioned in 1928 to design an apartment building for a private client in Brno, Czechoslovakia. Oud designed a building where each floor consisted of a single dwelling with a communal ground floor that featured shared and functional spaces. The servants' dwelling occupied a separate wing and met with the residential dwellings at the communal staircase and lobby (Taverne et al. 2001, 319). Project series includes drawings of floor plans and elevations.

Description:
This project series documents a feasibility study for an office building in St. John's, Newfoundland from 1975-1977. The office identified the project number as 7502. This project consisted of an investigation into the feasibility of an office building at the corners of Torbay Road and Highland Drive. This is the second feasibility study for this building, the first of which began in 1974 (see project series AP018.S1.1974.PR01 described in this fonds). This project was commissioned by Craig Dobbin of Omega Investments, and was to be a 400,000 square foot building with four storeys and parking for 272 cars. The project is recorded through correspondence and conference reports on presentation materials dating from 1975-1977.
