Summary:
Globalization, technology and politics have altered the definition and expectations of citizenship and the right to place. "Dimensions of Citizenship" documents contributions from the seven firms selected to represent the United States in the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale. This volume profiles and illustrates each of the US Pavilion contributions and contextualizes them in terms of scale. Drawing inspiration from the Eames' Power of Ten, "Dimensions of Citizenship" provides a view of belonging across seven stages starting with the individual (Citizen), then the collective (Civic, Region, Nation) and expanding to include all phases of contemporary society, real and projected (Globe, Network, Cosmos).

Summary:
The exhibition installation designed by Cino Zucchi Architects for the 16th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice becomes the occasion for a series of thematic readings on the works of the Milanese architect Luigi Caccia Dominioni, gathered here in a volume edited by Zucchi and Orsina Simona Pierini. The architect’s multifunctional building complex in Corso Italia, a “silent masterpiece” which impacted contemporary architectural thinking, unfurls a complex spatial narration from the scale of the city to that of material and detail. The book examines this reality through original documents from the LCD archive, new photography, and specially made 3D reconstructions.

Summary:
Contemporary Research Intensive was an event organised in the context of the 57th Venice Art Biennale to investigate the concept of 'contemporaneity'. Gathering together artists / curators / researchers through an open call, we asked how the temporal complexity that follows from the coming together of different temporalities in the same present could be made known in the context of contemporary art research, and particularly through practices that involve exhibitionary forms. The book is both part and result of the intensive sharing of ideas to produce something that captures the spirit of both discussions at that time and the publication process as a temporal form.

Summary:
This collection of articles on the work and person of Rem Koolhaas introduces the Rotterdam-based architect with a simultaneous reference to his surrealist impulses and the disjointed nature of a career, in which books and exhibitions mark intellectual and formal turning points. Commentaries on these seminal moments are interspersed with critiques on the major buildings and projects. In the end, it is difficult to pinpoint which are more important in defining the architect’s conceptual and aesthetic trajectory. The book concludes with a detailed analysis of Koolhaas’s curatorship of the Venice Biennale, yet another swerve in a dazzling, provocative, and paradoxical itinerary.
