AA Files 76 is structured as a glossary of terms relevant to contemporary debate in architecture. Summary:
AA Files 76 is structured as a glossary of terms relevant to contemporary debate in architecture. Each entry has been contributed by a different author, and represents a personal position as much as an attempt to frame the topic in a broader context; the issue therefore maps both a landscape of current concerns, interests, and ambitions, and also an overview of diverse positions and forms of practice. The authors of this glossary are practitioners, academics, students, lawyers, politicians, activists, and their contributions do not only seek to explore the potential of the themes put forward, but also to question the ways in which we can discuss space - as designers, as scholars, as citizens.

This third issue of Back Office #3 is devoted to various experiences of reading on screens. Over the course of the last decades, this change has introduced deep shifts whose effects are still being assessed. Following the possible end of linear writing, predicted by the “communicologist” Vilém Flusser as early as the 1970s, the philosopher Jacques Derrida reflected on the “end of paper” as the primary medium for inscription. The proliferation of screens and the dawn of the internet paved the way for expression forms falling under the category of an enlarged “graphosphere”, presumably still dominated by the norms and figures of paper (ligns, the sheet, the page, paragraphs, margins, etc.). Could the task of the designer be to accompany, as smoothly as possible, this transition from one technical era to the next, or could it be, on the contrary, to postpone the passage from paper to screen?

Summary:
The eighth issue of ‘Flaneur’ is devoted to the intersection of Kangding Road and Wanda Road in Taipei, a crossroads of layered colonial and urban histories. Taipei had always held a certain fascination for the editorial team, so when the opportunity arose to do a three-month artist residency at Taipei Art Village Treasure Hill, they seized the moment. In an interdisciplinary, collaborative effort, the axis is mapped out from different angles, revealing the layers, colonial implications, unvoiced stories, and contradictions of this place of displacements. With diverse contributions by more than fifteen local artists and writers, the magazine delves into the oldest part of the Taiwanese capital.
