Summary:
Roman Signer: Vernissage" celebrates the seventieth birthday of this extraordinary artist through an exploration of the cards used to promote Signer's exhibitions. This vibrantly illustrated volume features a selection of cards and advertisements for 150 Roman Signer exhibitions since 1973. Each card reflects the artistic sensibilities of its era, and together the cards form a miniature historical narrative of contemporary art. Also included in "Roman Signer: Vernissage" are photographs, Signer's sketches for potential projects, and film stills from past projects. Essayist Roland Waspe expands upon the visual narrative with his examination of the development of and dominant subject topics in Signer's work, and how the invitation cards and materials reflect his aesthetic ideals.

Summary:
A.J. Lode Janssens is one of Belgium’s most idiosyncratic architects and a radical educator. He was cofounder of the experimental studio Atelier Alpha and the Sint-Lucas Werkgemeenschap, a workshop linking architectural education, practice and research, and operated in close collaboration with ILAUD, the International Laboratory of Architecture and Urban Design. This publication presents The Balloon, an all-but-unknown temporary pneumatic home experiment, built in 1973 in Humbeek, where he lived with his family until 1986. Lode Janssens considered it an uncompromising ephemeral attempt at de-architecturalization and living in harmony with nature: a cave-dwelling, a work-in-progress, an empirical residence. This publication accompanies the eponymous exhibition at CIVA in Brussels.

Summary:
Danish artist Asger Jorn (1914-1973) is internationally renowned for his activities within the CoBrA and the International Situationist groups. Quite apart from his paintings, prints, ceramics and sculptures, Jorn produced a remarkable amount of theoretical work. His ideas are still extremely relevant to contemporary discourse. However, in contrast to his artistic oeuvre, Jorn's theoretical arguments have received much less attention from scholars of architecture, art history or philosophy. This book for the first time reveals this largely ignored aspect of Jorn's work. Jorn's opinions and motivations are subsequently contextualized within the theoretical debate of his time and are linked in the book to examples of built architecture, which influenced and informed his conception of architecture and urbanism.

Summary:
This is the first re-issue of Stephen Willats’ major text The Artist as an Instigator of Changes in Social Cognition and Behaviour since its original publication in 1973. Willats wrote The Artist as an Instigator while he was director of the Centre for Behavioural Art, a cross-disciplinary research and discussion platform he established at Gallery House, London, in 1972–73. Long out of print, and as relevant today as it was in the early 1970s, the essay includes rigorous analyses of social forms of artistic production and descriptions of a number of projects by Willats. Along with the original text, this edition features archival images and a specially written introduction by the artist.
