Summary:
"Walkscapes" deals with strolling as an architecture of landscape, with walking as an autonomous form of art, a primary act in the symbolic transformation of the territory, an aesthetic instrument of knowledge and a physical transformation of the "negotiated" space, which is converted into an urban intervention. From primitive nomadism to Dada and Surrealism, from the Lettrist to the Situationist International, and from Minimalism to Land Art, this book narrates the perception of landscape through a history of the traversed city.

Summary:
Following the calamitous events of 2011 in Japan, Fuminori Nousaku and Mio Tsuneyama began to look at the link between materials and energy related to daily life, such as household goods, homes, food, and waste. They sought ways to reinvent how we live, from dependence on infrastructure and industry to another relationship: off-grid homes that generate solar power, gardens that harness the power of microbes in the soil, shared homes in vacant buildings, and construction using discarded materials. The wildness that survives the city enjoys fluctuation and overcomes inconvenience. This book introduces the collectives involved in these activities along with practices and resources.

Summary:
"Landscape + 100 words to inhabit it" is a title that intends to present a condition of contemporary landscape by measuring it through a direct and immediate form : terms, definitions, ideas, microstories, short texts, notes. It is a collection of instant snaps rather than a complete critical and theoretical look at the subject. It is a group of terms asked for and formulated by authors that are not only architects and landscape architects, but also urbanists, philosophers, critics, poets, geographers and writers. It is a collection of reflections that underlie aesthetic and cultural categories as much as technical-professional values and practices. It is a Tower of Babel of meanings, each having its specific characteristics, which, far from exhausting all the issues of a particular point, propose 'listening' to it from various multifaceted standpoints. These concepts do not guide this book towards a definition of landscape but towards a search for the most suitable instruments for dealing with it.

Summary:
''Atmosphere anatomies'' illustrates the relationship between landscape architecture and urbanism with atmosphere as a design medium for sensory and physiological welfare. The essays examine the design techniques and contexts of projects in which atmosphere is brought to the fore. Throughout, photo-essays by Iwan Baan showcase selected design projects as milieus for everyday life. The book concludes with a combined taxonomy of design techniques. The critical and visual examinations of these projects—from William Kent to Lawrence Halprin, Carlos Villanueva to Alexandre Chemetoff, Le Corbusier to Lina Bo Bardi—illustrate that the continual integration of atmosphere as medium in the design process creates spaces with social, emotional and environmental relevance.

Summary:
Much has been written about Britain's trailblazing post-1970s privatization program, but the biggest privatization of them all has until now escaped scrutiny: the privatization of land. Since Margaret Thatcher took power in 1979, and hidden from the public eye, about 10 per cent of the entire British land mass, including some of its most valuable real estate, has passed from public to private hands. Forest land, defence land, health service land and above all else local authority land- for farming and school sports, for recreation and housing - has been sold off en masse. Why? How? And with what social, economic and political consequences? “The New Enclosure” provides the first ever study of this profoundly significant phenomenon, situating it as a centrepiece of neoliberalism in Britain and as a successor programme to the original eighteenth-century enclosures. With more public land still slated for disposal, the book identifies the stakes and asks what, if anything, can and should be done.
