Le texte de Suzanne Trocmé met en lumière les différentes philosophies adoptées par ces créateurs - notamment au travers d'entretiens exclusifs qui lui ont été accordés par nombre d'entre eux. L'architecture intérieure moderne est née au début du XXe siècle, sous l'influence de pionniers comme Elsie de Wolfe, Syrie Maugham et Jean-Michel Frank. Ces décorateurs formèrent le goût de leur époque, suivis par d'autres, qui marquèrent de leur empreinte le style du XXe siècle. "Décorateurs d'intérieurs" révèle l'histoire et les évolutions de cette forme artistique, en étudiant la vie et l'œuvre de célèbres décorateurs européens et américains. Le texte de Suzanne Trocmé met en lumière les différentes philosophies adoptées par ces créateurs - notamment au travers d'entretiens exclusifs qui lui ont été accordés par nombre d'entre eux. Qu'il s'agisse des propos passionnants de feu David Hicks, tenus lors d'une interview donnée juste avant sa mort, ou des conceptions audacieuses de Philippe Starck, ce livre regorge d'anecdotes et de citations, et apporte un éclairage sur les créations et les sources d'inspiration de chaque décorateur.
