Description:
File documents an unexecuted project for headquarters for British Olivetti, in Milton Keynes, England, United Kingdom. The project was abandonned in 1974. Material in this file was produced between 1970 and 1977. Several of the publication drawings for the project appeared in periodicals, books and catalogues from 1974 onwards. Publication perspectives are attributed by Mark Girouard to Leon Krier. According to Girouard, Stirling subsequently coloured several of Krier's publication drawings (Girouard 186, 251). File contains reference drawings, early conceptual and design development drawings, publication and presentation drawings and working drawings. Photographic materials include views of the presentation model by John Donat Photography. File also contains textual records and a presentation model.

This sub-project series documents an executed project for the Clore Gallery in London, England. This addition to the Tate Gallery (now Tate Britain) was built to house the Turner Bequest. Material in this Sub-file was produced between 1978 and 1990. The sub-project series contains design development drawings, including several for an early feasibility study for phased additions to the Tate Gallery, including the Clore Gallery, planned on the Queen Alexandra Military Hospital site to the east of the main building. It also contains presentation drawings produced for publication purposes, as well as a large number of working drawings. Photographic materials includes views of models by John Donat Photography, and of the building site and the completed building, including several by photographers Richard Bryant, Alastair Hunter, J. Okun and Mary Shand (Lady Mary Stirling). A large quantity of textual records and two models are also present in the sub-project series.

Le dossier documente le projet de construction du Bar Braque, siuté au 980 est, rue Rachel, à Montréal, Québec. Le budget aloué pour ce projet était de 200 000$. Aussi, le projet s'est mérité le Prix d'excellence de l'ordre des architectes du Québec, distinction en architecture, en 1983. Le dossier contient des dessins, des documents textuels, des reprographies, des photographies, des négatifs, des diapositives, des panneaux et un photomontage. Description du projet par l'architecte: "Le bar Braque, du 980 est, rue Rachel à Montréal est un projet d'insertion d'une construction sur un site rendu vacant à la suite d'un feu, il y a plusieurs années. Une construction neuve a permis d'envisager le projet comme un geste entier d'intégration à la rue et à la ville. Les études de façade témoignent de la volonté de réaliser une architecture interprétative du caractère commercial montréalais. On peut y voir les liens fragiles qu'elle établit avec les voisines et simultanément l'importance qu'elle s'accorde par rapport à elles. Aussi, tente-t-elle de vibrer aux textures et aux couleurs préviliégiées des matériaux aptes à assumer les rôles commerciaux et culturels du lieu : bar dans la ville."
