Summary:
This book challenges traditional assumptions about the relationship between art and architecture. From 2008 through 2010, David Adjaye, along with Marc McQuade, taught three studios at the Princeton School of Architecture. Each studio focused on a collaboration with three distinguished artists Matthew Ritchie, Teresita Fernandez, and Jorge Pardo on interventions in three vastly different sites: the state of New Jersey, the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn, and the city of Merida in Mexicos Yucatan Peninsula. Through an exploratory process of questioning, developing, and testing, each architect and artist reexamines the expectations traditionally associated with the conventions of architectural design and representation.

Summary:
Entropy is the quantitative measure of disorder in a system. During the nineteenth century, chaos, seen through an entropic lens, was linked to irresponsible waste and moral debauchery, but in the second part of the twentieth century the notion has beenreconsidered in an affirmative sense, as a condition linked to growing complexity and new life. This alternate understanding of entropy has come to inform contemporary discourse and the practice of a new architectural generation. Many of the papers in this issue were first presented at the Phyllis Lambert seminar that took place at the École d'architecture, Université de Montréal, in March 2010

Summary:
In 2010, the international congress ‘Architecture: More for Less’ was held in Pamplona. Its aim was to take stock of the changing mood in architecture, which today faces huge ecological and economic challenges. This publication is a record of the event through the interviews conducted by five prominent critics – Richard Ingersoll, Antón García-Abril, Estrella de Diego, Vicente Verdú and Llàtzer Moix – with the participants, among them Renzo Piano, Anne Lacaton, Carlos Jiménez, Mark Wigley, Slavoj Žižek and Glenn Murcutt, who themselves cover a broad generational and geographic spectrum. Through the lens of architecture, it offers a kaleidoscopic portrait of our time.

Summary:

Born in 1911 and possibly still alive, Tulse Henry Purcell Luper was a writer, collector, criminal and world traveler. His sole legacy is a mysterious collection of 92 packed suitcases dispersed around the globe that purportedly constitute a complete encyclopedia of the planet and all that is in it, classified by object, event and idea, and from which absolutely nothing is omitted. This volume features Luper's drawings of the fabled suitcases, which Greenaway exhibited in the summer of 2010 at the Rivelino Gallery in Locarno, Switzerland.
