Led by our Public team, our guided tours aim to stimulate an open discussion on architecture and the built environment, and its intersection with the world around us.

These tours can focus on introducing the CCA’s research and curatorial activities, on its institutional history and our building’s architecture, or on particular exhibitions.

The CCA hosts exhibitions in three distinct spaces: the Main Galleries, the Octagonal Gallery, and the Hall Case display. Exhibition tours include a detailed overview of the show of your choice. If you wish to focus on a specific topic throughout your visit, please let us know in the booking process.

We offer guided tours from Mondays to Fridays 9:30am–5:30pm for groups of up to 30 people. The fee is $5 per person and includes admission. Follow the links below to book one of our tours.

On the first Sunday of each month, free exhibition tours are offered without need for registration. Please consult our calendar for the next date.

How do architects engage on the ground and mobilize efforts to change the field they work in? This film and exhibition showcases the efforts of Berlin-based architecture firm bplus.xyz as they establish a policy lab, HouseEurope.eu, to propose industry reforms and shift cultural norms on renovation. This tour includes a screening of the film To Build Law.

To learn more about To Build Law, visit the exhibition page.

Canadian architect Arthur Erickson’s photographs and letters from his seminal travels early in his career reveal discoveries and insights that reappeared in his designs, public presentations, and writings.

To learn more about Being There: Photography in Arthur Erickson’s Early Travel Diaries, visit the exhibition page.

From Vitruvius, to Repton, to Ruscha, the ways we document and disseminate the experience and design of landscape continue to evolve. This exhibition reads into the ways in which we confront and perceive landscapes through the medium of publication.

This exhibition exclusively features CCA Collection material. To learn more about Reading Landscapes, visit the exhibition page. For an interactive discussion of this show and its themes for any age, please see our workshop What Makes a Landscape.

An introduction to the CCA’s curatorial practices, ongoing projects, public spaces, and operations as an architecture museum and research institution.

An in-depth look at the history of the Shaughnessy House and its restoration, at the construction of the museum and the surrounding heritage of Shaughnessy Village, and at the CCA’s Sculpture Garden. This tour gives context to the choices that informed and shaped the built form of the CCA. This visit includes an outdoor segment.

To experience our exhibitions on your own, or to discover them from afar, we produce audio introductions to each of the exhibitions. Headphones to connect to your own device are available at our front desk.
