A special event during the National Trust of Canada’s annual conference, organized with the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals and Indigenous Heritage Circle.
The documentary To Build Law follows the efforts of a European Citizen’s Initiative promoting renovation over demolition and new construction. The screening will be followed by a conversation reflecting on the themes of the film in the context of Halifax, focusing on the role of legislation and legal frameworks in shaping the value of existing buildings, and the role architects can play as citizen activists alongside their professional roles.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information and to register, please visit the conference website.
