Site-Specific Engagements With the City

A public presentation of site-specific artistic projects developed in collaboration with Concordia University’s Faculty of Fine Arts
Special event, in English, CCA, 20 June, 2pm to 5pm

Join us for Site-Specific Engagements with the City, an afternoon of presentations, installations, and artistic interventions developed by students from Concordia University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, under the direction of Shauna Janssen.

Created at the culmination of an intensive course on site-specific practice, the projects were developed in dialogue with the CCA’s exhibitions, collections, archives, and histories. In response to the exhibition The fortune of the city is that it has never been perfect, they approach the city as a space shaped by memory, conflict, and changing forms of use.

Presented throughout the CCA, the works include sound environments, sculptural or performative interventions, architectural studies, research documentation, scenographic and choreographic experiments, and multimedia installations. Together, they offer new ways of reading the city, its less visible narratives, and its possible transformations.

This event is free and open to all with a reservation. Please register here. Entrance to our exhibitions is granted with reservation to this event.
