Come and Forget, a series of speculative historical erasures, continues with filmmaker and artist Johannes Grenzfurthner. He is one of the founders of Vienna-based monochrom, a group exploring art and theory, as well as directing and hosting festivals on themes including robotic sexuality, food hedonism, and cocktail robotics. His films include the feature documentaries Traceroute (2016) and Glossary of Broken Dreams (2018), and he lectures at the University of Arts and Industrial Design in Linz, and at Leuphana University in Lueneburg. Grenzfurthner is also the creator of the fictitious country of Soviet Unterzoegersdorf.

Building on questions about history and its uses, raised by exhibitions like Educating Architects: Four Courses by Kenneth Frampton and Besides, History: Go Hasegawa, Kersten Geers, David Van Severen, we invite special guests to propose acts of mass amnesia—precise and universal erasures of a place, person, or idea from our collective memory. What forces might be let loose, and what new ideas could emerge from fruitful forgetting?

This lecture is part of the Come and Forget series.
