Nicole Starosielski gives the opening public lecture for Solarity: After Oil School II.

Solarity gathers international scholars, students, artists, activists and practitioners for three days of critical reflection and collaboration on the challenges and possibilities of social transition to energy systems and communities organized around the energy of the sun.

The conference is organized by the Grierson Chair in Communication Studies – McGill University, Petrocultures Research Group, and Future Energy Systems – University of Alberta, and hosted by CCA.

Nicole Starosielski is Associate Professor of Media, Culture, and Communication, New York University.

Free, fully insured childcare begins at 6:30pm, for kids three years and up who can use the washroom independently. Please RSVP if you require childcare services. Offered in collaboration with The Lion and The Mouse.
