A selection of the Álvaro Siza archive will travel to the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian in Lisbon to be shown in their exhibition Siza, opening 17 May.
The exhibition shows the act of drawing by Siza for which you can find a wealth of material in the Álvaro Siza fonds at the CCA, especially—but not only—in his sketchbooks. The curators follow Siza’s hand on paper in his sketchbooks and design drawings for housing projects in Berlin (Bonjour Tristesse), The Hague (Punt Komma), Venice (Campo di Marte), or the reconstruction of Chiado in Lisbon and many other projects. See more information about the exhibition here.
The CCA holds the largest part of the Álvaro Siza fonds (AP178) and shares it with the Gulbenkian and Fundação Serralves in Porto.
