Summary:

Open for Maintenance is published in conjunction with the exhibition of the same name, which is curated by ARCH+ and the SUMMACUMFEMMER BÜRO JULIANE GREB collective and will feature in the German Pavilion at the 18th Venice Architecture Biennale. The project proceeds from the idea that sustainable practice can only be brought about by a major social shift. Architecture that seeks to overcome wastage, consumption, and the profligate use of resources must also prioritize the repair and upkeep of existing buildings, while acknowledging the work involved in this and according it greater value. It should be based on the principle of maintenance and give pride of place to the mundane task of caring for what is. Exhibition: German Pavilion, Biennale Architettura 2023. La Biennale di Venezia, Italy (20.05.2023 - 26.11.2023).
