Summary:

Andrew Waugh describes how the practice is driven by its proactive approach to low-carbon, sustainable architecture, as exemplified through both built projects and its extensive open-source research. Featured projects include the pioneering cross-laminated timber (CLT) residential tower Murray Grove in Hackney, The Black & White Building office development in Shoreditch, and a rammed earth cemetery in Bushey for the Jewish Orthodox community. The practice won Architects’ Journal Architect of the Year 2023, was shortlisted for the Stirling Prize in 2018, and has won a host of RIBA awards.
