Summary:
Mark Borthwick is among the generation of photographers who in the ’90s broke through the conventions of fashion photography. Integrating elements of architecture and design, he has developed a very personal and intuitive style, and knows how to turn a static photo into a performance. His work is about the movement of the model, and the serendipity of accidental clutter is as important to his images as the garments. This book showcases over 200 images from Borthwick’s best fashion editorials, celebrity portraits, and advertising work, as well as excerpts from his personal journals. The journal pages, consisting of Polaroids, sketches, and notes on shoots, reveal the workings of a photographer’s mind—the "behind the scenes" of the makings of a fashion image.

Anyone who has ever driven through the Swiss countryside has probably unsuspectingly passed one of these well camouflaged chalets that serves as part of Switzerland's impressive military defence system. This reprint gathers together more than one hundred photographs of these ‘false' chalets and presents them in full colour, one to a page. A clearly laid out map, providing location details of each building, adequately compensates for the lack of English text.

Summary:
In the summer of 1962, while still a university student of architecture, Andrea Branzi went to visit his brother Piergiorgio in Moscow, where he was working as a Rai correspondent. This was the world of the Cold War, but the "thaw" heralded by Nikita Khrushchev had somewhat loosened the grip of the Soviet regime. The young Branzi took the chance to wander around the city, exploring it from top to bottom. With a curiosity for everything, he was struck by the immense size of the capital, by its new neighbourhoods, by the signs of communism and its history, by the omnipresence of the military, but also by the relaxed outlook of the youth, the department stores, the Russians' carefree relationship with nature, the innocence of the children and the widespread love of chess.
