En parallèle d’une grande campagne de production d’œuvres réalisées par une cinquantaine d’artistes, la Samaritaine a donné carte blanche aux photographes Pierre-Olivier Deschamps et Vladimir Vasilev, qui ont pu accéder au chantier entre 2015 et 2020, et suivre la métamorphose du bâtiment. Ce chantier est donc devenu pendant cinq ans le terrain de jeu des deux artistes. Pierre-Olivier Deschamps s’est intéressé à l’architecture, aux variations d’échelles et aux couleurs, extraordinaires, que le chaos organisé du chantier a créées. Vladimir Vasilev, quant à lui, s’est intéressé à la fois au chantier ainsi qu’aux hommes et aux femmes qui s’activaient dans cette fourmilière, offrant un visage aux multiples facettes à cette transformation.

This book traces the development of environmental photography beginning with Adams, Porter and others, and the next generation of landscape photographers - Robert Adams, Richard Misrach, Robert Glenn Ketchum, Patrick Nagatani, Mark Klett, whose works confronted the issues of landscape and the environment in less idealised terms. Shifting from the historical framework, the book presents new work by twenty-three photographers working in the U.S., the next wave of artists using the camera to engage the environmental issues of the day. Après la reconstruction, il confie en 1885 à Alphonse Chalot, un enfant de Chantilly, les prises de vues du château, témoignage irremplaçable sur la genèse de son accrochage. Ayant installé ses collections dans le château, il lègue le musée Condé à l'Institut de France en 1884, avec interdiction de prêter ses collections et de modifier sa présentation.
