Summary:
Architecture photographer Takeshi Yamagishi’s first monographic collection presents his recordings of virtually every aspect of the collisions between architecture as the edge of artificiality and various forces of nature. The extensive series covers a period from the immediate aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 to the ongoing restoration efforts today, including measures against future catastrophes. It contains roughly 200 ultra-high-resolution images captured using 4 x 5 film, rather than digitally, and forms an impressive homage to the resilience and tenacity of the Japanese people, expressed through the built environment and augmented landscapes.

Summary:
The Berlin-based photo artist Arina Dähnick follows in the footsteps of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in her study of city life and urbanity, the contrasts of inside and outside, of blurriness and focus, reflections and mirror images, and plays with the viewer’s perception. She discovered van der Rohe's architecture in the fall of 2012, when, after a thunderstorm, she perceived the Neue Nationalgalerie in a both fascinating and paradoxical spatial experience of boundless vastness—and a simultaneous feeling of being held. From then on she photographed the building under various conditions until its closure in 2015, following in Mies van der Rohe’s footsteps from Berlin to Brno, from Chicago to New York. She captured his most famous buildings in photo series that conveys her creative inspiration as well as the fascinating spatial experience of the architecture itself.

Summary:

Summary:
During a period of three years, Taiyo Onorato and Nico Krebs traveled several months through the United States, working "on the road" on the photo series "The great unreal". The photographic work deals with reality and the fabrication of reality. The geography of America serves as both setting and fertile ground for the examination. Mysticism and demystification are important aspects in this process, as is working with a rich inventory of visual icons that can be continually deconstructed and manipulated. The working method of both photographers is based on interventions prescribed mostly by happenstance and change. Through repetition and associative placement, the sometimes crude, sometimes subtle interventions begin to link to one another, establishing an exciting transformation of reality that only hesitatingly reveals itself to the viewer.
