Summary:
“Editing 'Desired Landscapes' has always been a long conversation, as I have been particularly interested not only in professional writers, but also in the rawness and unique viewpoints of creatives, amateurs, and tourists. We would spend hours defining the topic, crafting the angle, and refining the structure, searching for the most fitting way to convey a sense of place. The aim was always the same: to bring together a personal, sometimes emotional, reading of the city with a critical take, all written in everyday language. After eight years of one-on-one editing, I felt that it was time to open up this process to our readers, and bring such conversations under an educational framework, because, to me, editing is a form of thinking. That’s how the Desired Essays online writing workshop was born.'' This first edition of ''Desired Essays'' is an anthology of the stories that sparked conversations during the online writing workshops in 2025.

Summary:
For the 48th iteration of ''Retrospecta'', the editors and designers have decided to tell the story differently. Not through years or course numbers, but through threads. The projects are gathered into into eight clusters, hoping that, placed beside one another, they might begin to speak. This way of organizing was not about order, but about conversation, wanting to blur the edges between classes and cohorts, to let ideas drift across timelines and settle where they resonate most. The hope is that new relationships might appear, unexpected ones, born not from structure, but from shared preoccupations, quiet urgencies, and the wish to make sense of the world together. At the back of the book, the reader will find an index that organizes each project by class and student name, so you can easily locate specific work. This book is about consequences, what it means to place one thing after another, and what it means to undo that sequence. The thickness of the paper, the cover, the space between lines, the pauses we built into the pages, each choice was made with care, not for perfection, but for presence. Each curatorial decision was made to hold a mirror up to the many voices that fill this hall.
