Summary:

Summary:
With this issue, the funambulist offers a critique of their own framework of knowledge production. The concept of “Global South” has been turned into a handy word to lazily designate two-thirds of the world’s earthly area and 90% of its population, thus flattening the millions of specificities that characterize this grouping. It also often embodies an entity that only exists dependent on its alter ego, the Global North. As such, it denies any form of agency to the peoples designated as “the South” independently from their relationship to the “North,” as we examine in the case of the war in the eastern Congo (Josaphat Musamba). The South/North binary also designates borders as lines (rather than as regimes operating on both sides of these lines) and essentializes the difference between sides. Can Blackness and Indigeneity in Abya Yala be read without a fundamental split at the settler colonial line that separates North and Central-South Americas (Ashley Ngozi Agbasoga)? Can 20th century Korea’s history show us that the line that currently separates the north (usually presented as part of the Global South) and the south (usually presented as part of the Global North) particularly illustrates the North/South framework’s lack of complexity (Lina Eunji Chang and Andrei-Sergei Kim)? What kind of colonial violence the Non-Aligned Movement invisibilizes in West Papua (Quito Swan), in Kashmir (Choakkeladd) or Western Sahara (Buhari Lehbib) and, in contrast, what kind of solidarities it allowed from Yugoslavia (Dubravka Sekulic and Sanja Horvatincic)? And, crucially, how can we honor the complexity of politics by being able to hold two contradictory truths together as Micol Meghnagi reminds us in the context of Gaddafi’s Libya and Pan-Arabism.

La citation chez Lineto est une forme qui permet de diffuser le catalogue typographique en empruntant à divers champs culturels : « Ignorance of your own culture is not considered cool ! ».

Anniversary issue celebrating Mousse's 20th anniversary. In 2006, the year Mousse Magazine was founded in Milan, a few of us were meandering through 2666, the last novel by Roberto Bolan~o, a tour de force across many hundreds of pages and several books that is impossible to summarize or put to a chronology, and yet composing a stunning picture, like the intricate fruit, flower, and vegetable paintings of Giuseppe Arcimboldo (who features in 2666 as a character). It suggested an act of reading as collective practice: "Reading is like thinking, like praying, like talking to a friend, like expressing your ideas, like listening to other people's ideas, like listening to music, like looking at the view, like taking a walk on the beach," Bolan~o says.

Elsewhere, readers are invited on a walk through the grounds of Fondation Beyeler with their Botanical Curator Rahel Kesselring.

Summary:
Perennially popular at the magCulture shop, this ingeniously formatted magazine concerns architecture (and life) in its broadest sense: '‘What it means to live today'’. This Spring 2026 issue of Real Review is dedicated to ‘Pretending the World’, with Nishant Choksi’s signature cover design, depicting a slipping mask, reinforcing the message that power and performance are inextricably bound—both in the exercise of political authority, and the mobilisation of the masses: '‘To pretend means to ‘lay claim’—to stretch forward and take hold of what we want, as if it already existed, or were already ours. To pretend is thus to call forth another reality and create truth through the power of conviction alone. It is fashionable to ridicule performative gestures as ineffective posturing. Yet this is literally the only way new societies come into being.’'

Summary:
London evokes many imaginaries and ideas. This thematic issue investigates the residential project as a critical juncture, a concurrence of opportunities to challenge convention. With its rich architectural heritage, immense physicality, and multilayered history, architects working in London must grapple with financial constraints amid the economic promotion of private development. Guest-edited by Andrew Clancy and Marwa el Mubark, the projects presented here revisit typical architectural programmes. Through diverse approaches and ranging from terrace house and warehouse renovations to adaptive reuse, all contribute to the complexity and enduring fascination of this city.
