Summary:
Karl Nawrot is a graphic designer whose work has a pronounced architectural sensibility. His oeuvre includes typography, illustration, and abstract graphic compositions, and he uses techniques usually associated with architectural processes to create letterforms drawn using various media. ‘Mind Walks’ compiles more than 900 images of Nawrot’s selected works from between 2004 and 2017. Edited and designed by him, and with a text by James Langdon, the book is a fascinating compendium of plastic expression through various materials. Whether formed in pencil, ink, foam board, card stock, or metal, his creations are the typographic equivalent of an architectural model.

Summary:
Sitting, people do already for a long time. Therefore chairs have been manufactured ever since. In Hong Kong many of them end up on the street. Plastic chairs, wicker chairs, armchairs, stools, bar stools, office chairs. Old and new, whole, broken, rebuilt and repaired. Together with alienated crates, cartons, wooden blocks and foam pillows they form curious roadside seating ensembles for the short relaxation or a little chat in between. 'Seating Arrangements' is the third of a total of 9 volumes in which Michael Wolf celebrates the diverse aspects of street life in Hong Kong and the improvisational skills of the urban residents.

Summary:
A Kassen is known for projects that destabilise our assumptions about the built environment, adding sensory and conceptual qualities that go beyond what either architecture or art could achieve alone. Here the artist group explores blending art and architecture in an expanded domain, highlighting the creative exchanges between the two fields. By redefining how we perceive architecture, A Kassen shifts from everyday expectations into a more playful, imaginative realm. A series of projects introduces elements that disturb and distort reality, encouraging seeing and experiencing space in new ways. The book is shipped sealed in plastic with its pages folded back from its middle.

Joanne Schwartz and Matt Beam have discovered numbers in many different forms all over the city. They are on houses and apartment buildings, on store windows and doors, on trucks and garbage bins, on sidewalks and parking spots. They are printed, spray-painted, molded in plastic, chiseled in stone, stamped on vinyl, even torched into metal. We see these numbers, often unconsciously, every day, but the wonderful photographs in this book prompt us to look at them more closely, becoming aware and alive to the art, serendipity and variety that surround us. This book is for anyone who enjoys engaging visually with the city.
