Human Space (2012)
AP207.S1.2012.PR06
Description:
The project series documents the installation "Human Wall", designed by Pettena for the Galleria Enrico Fornello in Milan in 2012. The installation consists of a wall made of handmade balls of clay on which the handprints from making the clay balls intentionally remain. "The physicality and action of constructing is also accentuated here by the use of a natural material, clay, whose malleability and lack of homogeneity in themselves generate architecture, an architecture that can however be directed toward a mental use of space." [1] Another edition of this installation was presented at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art in Salt Lake City in 2012. The project series contains drawings showing the construction of the installation and photographs of the installation. Description:
This project series documents the Nova Sede do Banco Nacional de Cabo Verde in Cabo Verde. While the records were held in the office’s archives this project was assigned the number 100/90. The office assigned the date 1998 to this project. The bank headquarter is divided into three volumes. Due to the high humidity level of the area, special efforts were put into the design of the air conditioning system. There are four different entrances, one for the public to access the main meeting rooms, one for the employees that is linked to the basement parking, one for the treasury, and one for visitors to the museum, auditorium, or the bar. To this day, the headquarter is still in construction. Documenting this project are plans, details, technical drawings, and mechanical drawings. Textual material includes correspondence, project documentation, technical and mechanical specifications. Photographic material documents the project site.

Project
AP207.S1.1995.PR01
Description:
The project series documents Pettena's research and study for the restoration and conversion of the Tonnara dell’Enfola, the promontory of the Enfola in Portoferraio, Italy. The project, on which Pettena worked from 1995 to 2000, was commissioned by the Parco Nazionale of the Arcipelago Toscano. The project included the restoration and conversion of the 18th century former tuna factory building into a museum and a theme park. The project was not realized as the general plan for the project is yet to be defined. The project series contains a complete set of plans for Pettena's proposal, including site plans, elevations, sections and floor plans, and a report on the project. The project series also includes contracts, cost estimates, project descriptions, handwritten notes (possibly by Pettena), correspondence and a list of work for the project. It also contains research material such as reference photographs and a set of reference plans for the building.

Description:
In 1934 and 1937, Oud created the interior designs for the private home of the director of Museum Boymans, Dr D. Hannema. In 1934, Oud designed the study and library of Hannema's home, including a remodelled fireplace and curtained bookcases. Oud also incorporated one of his Metz & Co chairs behind a wooden table, as well as built-in cupboards and another designed chair set before a writing table. In Dr Hannema's new home, in 1937, Oud was responsible for furnishing the entrance and staircase, designing two bookcases in the back room, and incorporating his own designs into the front room. In the front room Oud designed wooden bookcases and a living space that featured two armchairs and a coffee table (Taverne et al. 2001, 387-388). Project series includes photographs of the interior view of Hannema's first and second homes.

Energy FREE TREE (2017)
AP207.S1.2017.PR03
Description:
The project series documents the installation "Energy FREE TREE" designed by Pettena and presented at Museion in Bozen, in 2017. The installation consists of a tower measuring eight meters high by four meters wide. The tower is built with parts, including doors, fenders, exhaust pipes, and lights, and is meant to represent a Christmas tree standing next to the museum entrance during Christmas. "The work was, in fact, meant to trigger ‘mental shortcircuits [sic]’ in order to obtain a reaction so as to introduce the subject of environmental awareness and the need of using recycled materials to reduce damages to the environment as much as possible." [1] The project series contains a video, photographs of the installation, and two drawings.
