It is devoted to the questions of how and why individuals move between countries, and delves into the illusions that migrants carry with them. Migration changes people, memories and identity, but how do spaces, objects and landscapes change during this journey? The fast pace of technology has set the human world and its phenomena in constant motion, and the messy and complex place in which we live requires a new outlook and new values. With diverse contributions from Charlie Koolhaas, Fiona Tan, Chong Tese, Naoki Ishikawa, Ryan Gander and several others.

Summary:
Made up of architects, lawyers, journalists, scientists, and more, Forensic Architecture is far from a conventional architectural practice; instead investigating human rights and environmental violations where the truth appears to have been distorted or covered up. In 10 years of work, they have investigated illegal detention sites in Cameroon, used oceanography to track a migrant boat adrift in NATO-surveilled waters, modelled a prison in Syria using victims’ memories of sound, and examined the causes and consequences of forest fires in Borneo and Sumatra. At its forefront is Eyal Weizman, a British Israeli architect. He is interviewed by Freya Marshall in issue 48 of Mono Kultur.

Summary:
This book is a study of architectural infrastructure for state-provided accommodation for refugees in Germany. During the so called European migrant crisis from 2015 on Germany got known for its ''welcome culture'' towards refugees. Since 2015 millions of refugees have arrived to the country and the state has had to react quickly trying to provide sufficient housing for the immigrants. In the fast paced urban planning process material and immaterial borders are created, making it challenging for the refugees to settle. Through photographic documentation, aerial views and official documents of regulations regarding refugee housing complexes the book raises a questions about the architecture’s impairing effects for refugees integration to German society.

Summary:
Errant’s 4th issue tackles the imaginary nature of the nation state, and looks into alternative forms of solidarity, community and belonging that are disconnected from or even antagonistic to this form of governance and in which a migrant or otherwise marginalised position can be seen as one of power and resistance. ''States of statelessness'' delves into the diverse manners in which people respond to their precarious relations to nation and nationality in practical, poetic and community-based ways. But more than that, this issue is a celebration of the ways in which people are able to stand their ground, to exist in fluidity, and a commemoration of those before us that have shown that other ‘states’ are possible.
