Summary:
This anthology aims to destabilize the limits of the discipline of architecture by focusing on the core concepts of inhabitation and displacement. This, by extension, centralizes the figure of the inhabitant and interrogates the limits of conventional architectural thinking. The editors shed light on the topic of displacement from interdisciplinary and international perspectives. By rendering visible the practices of living and spatial appropriation, this volume also encourages critical engagement with questions of architectural production and authorship.

Summary:
HK Lab 2 picks up where HK Lab left off, and extends it. It brings together artists projects and a number of theoretical and critical viewpoints on Hong Kong interior spaces. The changing nature of urban experience and inhabitation calls for new critical paradigms and interdisciplinary approaches. It is perhaps time to move on and explore the concept of the city and its urban practices, not from visual, panoptic constructions, but from opaque, poetic, lived and embodied experiences of the city.

Summary:
Rooms You May Have Missed reclaims the significance of inhabitation and is for that reason a collection of domestic spaces—entry porticos, kitchens, bedrooms, closets, dining rooms, courtyards, gardens, vestibules, living rooms, offices, dens and washrooms—as reinvented in the work of two very different architects: Umberto Riva in Milan and Bijoy Jain in Mumbai. Common to their practices is a genuine concern for the details that support living in and our common rituals of waking, bathing, eating, entertaining and sleeping.
