A systematic section presents the typology, the technical and logistical elements of industrial building in context. In the subsequent section, some 70 designs are described and analysed. Special emphasis is placed on those functions and procedures that inform the design such as production, montage, storage and distribution. JŸrgen Adam is Director of the Institute for Design and Construction at the University of Stuttgart.
