Description:
The material in this project series contains racist language. Please take care when viewing this material and seek help from trusted sources if needed. This project series documents a study on the relocation of the First Nations community of South Indian Lake in Manitoba. The community was relocated due to planned flooding that would be caused by the diversion of the Churchill River for a hydroelectric development. Part of the hydro project included works on Nelson River which would flood the area around the southeast shore of Southern Indian Lake. The study assessed the relocation site for the community and included a proposed plan which outlined economic, social, and educational programmes to be integrated along with the physical development of the region. The proposed plan was not implemented.

AP207.S1.1968.PR07
Description:
The project series documents "Citta Futura", a series of architectural drawings made by Pettena as part of his graduation thesis at University of Florence in 1968. Pettena's thesis was on the urban requalification of the Santa Croce area in Florence damaged by a flood in 1966. For this project Pettena was "influcenced by the many visionary proposals of 'cities of the future' of the early '60s" [1] The project series contains project descriptions in English and in Italian, and scanned copies of drawings by Pettena for his thesis at the end of the 1960s. Copper House II
AP182.S1.2009.D1
Description:
File documents an executed project for a private house in Chondi, Maharashtra, India. Copper House II is the second residence of a couple from Mumbai, who visit the house for a few days each week. It is located in a dense grove of mango trees near a brook that floods each year during the monsoon. To protect the inhabitants from the encroaching landscape, the house is set on an artificial high ground made of dirt dug for a well from the site itself. The open-air courtyard at the centre of the plan is paved in black basalt stones that also allow rainwater to drain below the house. On the ground floor, large horizontal windows are sheathed in slatted ironwood and copper mesh, providing a form of camouflage for the house while still permitting views out from the living spaces. The two boxy spaces upstairs are private: one contains a master bedroom and study, the second a smaller bedroom. The thin copper sheets that cover the upper floor are waterproof and will develop a verdigris over time, further concealing the house within its setting. File contains drawings, photographs, models, and a video recording.

AP178.S1.2003.PR02
Description:
This project series documents the Recupero del Palazzo Donnaregina / Museu de Arte Contemporâneo in Napoli, Italy. While the records were held in the office’s archives this project was assigned the number 55/00. The office assigned the date 2003 for this project. The Palazzo Donnaregina was built during the 19th century and served multiple functions during his history, including a bank and a school of administration. In 2001, the building was abandoned after a flood. In 2005, the Campania Regional Government bought the building and leased it to the Fondazione Donnaregina per le arti contemporane. Àlvaro Siza and the Studio DAZ-Dumontet Antonini Zaske were selected to renovate and repurpose the builsing into a contemporary art museum. The museum included exhibition halls, a library, a bookshop, and a mediatheque. The project was realized. Documenting this project are sketches, studies, design development drawings, plans, and details. Textual material includes project documentation, catalogs from suppliers, and correspondence. Photographic material documents Siza's visits, project site, and construction work.
