Summary:
Japanese architecture possesses a spatial sensibility that is able to intensely define the space through very thin and light elements, sometimes semi-transparent. The same sensibility is can also be found when other kinds of materials are used, like heavy materials that belong also to the Western tradition. In Japanese architecture, especially in the case of Kazunori Fujimoto's architecture, it is possible to find this lightness through the use of reinforced concrete, shaped as if it were paper. The process of dissolution of architecture, that uses voids as a holy place and builds a garden instead of the emperor's palace, is typical of Japanese culture. It consists in the composition of elements working on the spirituality of the invisible.

Guillermo Hevia García stands out among the latest generation of Chilean architects for his sensitive focus on his projects’ public impact, expressed in the ways his buildings obey their own internal logic and respect their local cultural, social and spatial contexts.''Every Design Conceals an Order'' compiles 13 of the architect’s designs: built works, projects currently underway and competition entries. Each building is accompanied by a section on the architecture’s imaginary context, the visual references Hevia García mobilized in his working process. The publication also shows Hevia García’s approaches to architectural representation, as he deploys techniques ranging from planimetrics, axonometric projections and models, renders and illustrations.

Summary:
With ''The Wandering Maker,'' Machiel Spaan hopes to make a contribution to architectural design as a discipline that requires time and thought – a sincere search for the right place, craftsmanship, material, and space. He sheds light on the discovery of space by way of his personal experiences from his own practice, the Amsterdam-based office M3H, from his role as an educator, and from his impressions gained from travelling, reading, and contemplating. The stories connect doing, seeing, and learning. In his mind, 'creation' can be divided into seven skills that together drive the design and creation process: looking, playing, creating, moving, imagining, constructing, and unravelling.

Summary:
This book explores the history and significance of rammed earth construction in Central Europe, particularly in Switzerland, using historical examples to investigate the potential of this building technique for contemporary construction. Rammed earth has material advantages, such as its strength, durability, and non-combustible nature, while potential disadvantages, such as on-site weather dependency, can be circumvented by using prefab elements. It is ecologically sustainable and completely recyclable as well. This pioneering and comprehensive study contributes to safeguarding existing architectural heritage while also providing a foundation for further research.
