Project
AP056.S1.1994.PR03
Description:
This project series documents a park in Oakville, Ontario in 1994. The office identified the project number as 9401. This project was the winning entry in a competition to design a park in an area known as the Uptown Core, which was undergoing major transformations at the time. The park, now known as Oak Park, stretched several blocks north-east from the Sixth Line. The large part of the design included a greenhouse pavilion overlooking a lake, accompanied by a bridge that extended south-west towards a wooded area. The project is recorded through drawings and presentation watercolour paintings dating from around 1994. The drawings are mostly originals and primarily include site surveys, sketches, plans, elevations and perspectives.

Bar "le Business"
AP066.S2.D14
Description:
Jacques Rousseau, 66-B014-015T.

An Ever-Changing Landscape
Starting from... People
One of the markers of modernity from the eighteenth century onwards is the emergence of “the people” as a respected political entity. In response, architects have advocated for the transformation of cities, explored new technologies, pioneered design discourses, and engaged in heated cultural conflicts—all in the name of the people. During this time, fictional, abstracted(...)

DR1982:0240
Description:
- To manifest the consolidation of his power over the Low Countries, the Emperor Charles VI of Austria staged triumphal entries for his representative into Brussels and Ghent in 1717. During six days of ceremonies and festivities, the main market place was transformed several times. This print (DR1982:0240) depicts the third transformation that was wrought on the Place au Vendredi: the statue of Charles V, ornamented with an illuminated monogramme of Charles VI, became the centerpiece of a temporary fenced compound for fireworks - a firework display layout standard for at least a century, and still in use today.

AP143.S4.D12
Description:
This project series documents House IV, an unexecuted project designed for unknown clients in Falls Village, Connecticut. Materials in this file were produced in 1970 and 1971. Documents include fifty-eight conceptual drawings (files: DR1994:0132:001-058) and presentation plans that show the internal organization of the house. Although never realized, House IV was extensively published, particularly as a series of axonometrics showing the transformations of the original cube. Some of the files documenting this are a set of axonometric drawings (DR1994:0132:120-184) and copies mounted on board (DR1994:0132:185-198). Other files, including files of photographic materials, document the layout of these drawings for publication. Also included are studies for exterior and interior elevations and silhouettes painted on mylar (DR1994:0132:214-230). Conceptual drawings and design development drawings include plans, elevations, and axonometrics. Presentation/publication drawings also include plans, elevations, sections, and axonometrics. Also included in this project series is a completed model.
