Summary:
Presenting innovative field research conducted in new and emerging human rights museums across Asia and Latin America, the book adopts a broad museological approach. It does so by including national and community museums, as well as public and private museological initiatives, within its purview. Drawing on in-depth case studies about museums in Taiwan, Japan, Paraguay and Colombia – all discussed within their political and cultural contexts – the book examines the paradigmatic shift that has occurred within the museum field in the wake of the larger global transformations that have shaped contemporary geo-politics over the last 50 years. The diversity of geographical and political contexts, and the attention to lesser-known institutions within the canon of English museum studies literature, presents readers with a valuable opportunity to learn more about innovative museological models in non-English-speaking and non-Western contexts.

Summary:
This is a publication about seeing versus not seeing, about gender, class and climate, a work about representation and reproduction. In short, a vehicle for perception and togetherness. After leaving an artist in residence in Japan spring 2019 and being back in Amsterdam Markus felt the need for silence and contemplation. Intuitively she built a studio setting in the forest and a photographic process began. It started with a found tarpaulin; the same kind of blue tarp that is a common sight in Japan and if one looks closer most often a shelter for someone homeless appears.

Summary:
Solar energy needs a new narrative - one that says goodbye to old perspectives and only talks about the efficiency and the payback time of blue solar panels. This book is divided into three parts: the first part explains how we designed with the sun in the past, providing a visual timeline of the historical development of solar power. The second part discusses the present: Where are we now and what is solar design? It provides examples of innovative solar design in architecture, fashion, mobility and product design. Finally, the last part looks at the future and asks how we can ensure solar energy does not become the asbestos of the 21st century.

Summary:
With this publication, visual artist Michiel Kluiters investigates how space (or spatiality) works in photography and how it can become an instrument for narration. A series of photographed spaces open up a dialogue and hint at intimate stories. Walls appear roughly textured, seeming to address the tactile rather than visual sense. The pictured spaces look like unfinished buildings or abandoned ruins, either still under construction or already in decline. Kluiters instils these images with a temporal sense, leaving an unanswered promise of eventual fulfilment or a lingering memory of an irrevocable epoch. We must wonder, is this a possible dystopian future or the remnants of a utopian past?

Summary:
This small-format volume presents more than 200 furniture and objects made between 1981 and 1986 for the Memphis collection. Memphis was an Italian design and architecture collective founded by Ettore Sottsass, a leading exponent of 1980s postmodernism. It was the outcome of a long process that began at the Olivetti company in Ivrea, where Sottsass had been the design coordinator since the late 1950s, and continued with the research of the radical architecture movements of the 1960s and 1970s, in Florence and Europe. The publication documents the eponymous 2022 Milan exhibition on the group, for which Memphis works were dynamically installed in chronological order in the style of a fashion show, with quotes by critics, architects and designers projected on the walls.
