AP041.S1.1975.D2
Description:
This project series document the series FRAGMENTS is a group of photographs and mixed-media pieces depicting the frontal images of buildings in various states of neglect. Some of the photographs are altered, many are Xeroxed and drawn upon with coloured pencils. The title refers to the “elemental fragments which emerge out of the time-worn existence of buildings.” These images led to the creation of a project, Construction, 1975-1977, in which Charney explores the forms of these original buildings through sketches and then the construction of wooden sculptures.
